First you earn the Army’s Black beret. Then, by going to the Elite Schools for Special Forces and Airborne and completing the courses, you earn the right to wear the legendary Airborne / Air Assault qualified, you may proudly wear the elite Maroon Beret . Like the issued Army beret, the first thing a Warrior does is to try to get the beret shaped to fit closely and drape properly. This is a tedious task using steam (and other methods) and then shaving it to remove unwanted fuzz. No one likes or will wear a pan-head look, unshaped beret. This time consuming process is an unrewarding effort that sometimes ends in disaster. Our solution: The Pro-Fit Pre-Shaved and Shaped Wool Beret . Order one of these, and with a little bit of final adjusting, you are good to go with an elite beret that drapes like it should and fits like a glove. The Nylon ribbon sweatband is more comfortable than the leather model. These are worked by hand – shaped, and shaved – to make your day easy. We’ve shown the Maroon beret with a Flash and Crest for example purposes only. The AIRBORNE Maroon berets do not come with a Flash sewn on.
